Sizing is the one part of ordering jewelry that is entirely in the buyer's control, and it is also the most commonly skipped step. It takes about two minutes with a soft tape measure.
Measuring the wrist
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the wrist at the point where the bracelet will actually sit — just above the bony prominence, not up on the forearm. Read the number while the tape is snug but not tight.
Then add the ease you want:
- Snug, barely-there fit: add about 1 cm.
- Everyday relaxed fit: add 1.5 to 2 cm. This is the most common choice for daily wear.
- Over the wrist or with a watch: add 2 to 2.5 cm.
A string and a ruler work fine if you do not have a tape measure. Mark where the string meets, lay it flat against the ruler, and read the length.
Measuring the neck
Measure the base of your neck, just below the Adam's apple for men and below the neck for women, keeping the tape comfortable rather than tight.
From that base measurement:
| Base neck | Necklace length | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| 32–35 cm | 40–43 cm | Collarbone, choker length |
| 34–38 cm | 45–48 cm | Just below the collarbone |
| 36–42 cm | 50–55 cm | On the chest, over a shirt |
| 40+ cm | 60 cm and above | Long drop or layering piece |
Add 2 to 3 cm to the base measurement and you land in the right band for that style.
Things that change the answer
- Charm or pendant length. A pendant adds its drop below the chain. If you want the pendant to sit at a specific height, account for it.
- How you dress. A piece that must clear a shirt collar needs more length than the same necklace worn over a T-shirt.
- Layering. If you plan to wear several chains together, each one should be a little longer than the last — roughly 2 to 3 cm of spacing.
- Hands and weather. In summer, wrists swell slightly. If a fit is tight, an extender or a slightly larger size is worth the adjustment.
Why TRIJORA pieces finish with an extender
Extender chains are the simplest insurance against a measurement being slightly off. They add a few centimetres of adjustable range and let the wearer set the final fit themselves, after the piece arrives and has been tried on.
If you are ordering for someone else, send us the measurement you know and add an extender wherever the design allows it.
Frequently asked
How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?
Wrap a soft tape measure snugly around the wrist just above the bone, where the bracelet will sit, and read the measurement. Do not pull tight — you want the length of the wrist, not the length of the bracelet.
Should I add length to my wrist measurement?
For a snug fit, add about 1 cm. For a relaxed everyday fit, add 1.5 to 2 cm. Most TRIJORA bracelets are finished with an extender chain, which lets the wearer fine-tune the fit after delivery.
How long should a necklace be?
Roughly: 40–43 cm sits at the collarbone, 45–48 cm sits just below the collarbone on the neck, 50–55 cm sits on the chest. Measure the base of your neck with a tape, then add 5 cm for a choker or 10 to 12 cm for a longer drop.
What if I am between two sizes?
Order the larger size, or order the smaller one with an extender. If a bracelet is too small it can be uncomfortable all day; slightly long with an extender is easy to live with.
